about

The second release on Hall or Nothing's 'Crystal Songs' imprint. This was our final release before signing a record deal with Independiente Records. Everything Destroys Itself was recorded at Sphere Studios in South London. It was our first time working with Dave Eringa. Dave had produced albums by our favourite band, the Manics, and would go on to produce our debut album proper, Handshakes For Bullets.

There were two studios in the complex. Whilst we recorded this in one, Muse were in the other recording their version of 'House of the Rising Sun' for an NME compilation. Because we were just kids with rubbish gear, we waited until Muse had left for the evening and nicked one of their guitars to record with. I remember Matt Bellamy had this incredible silver plated Fender Stratocaster with palm trees engraved all over it. How the other half live, eh?

The b-sides to this release were recorded by the ever reliable Pete Troughton at Studio Studio, where we had recorded Worship Yourself. Zyklon-B remained a live favourite right up until we split up.

about

Kinesis Bolton, UK

Kinesis were a rock band from Bolton. We self-released a mini album (Worship Yourself) before signing a record deal with Independiente Records. They released an album (Handshakes for Bullets) and a clutch of singles. We recorded one last album (You Are Being Lied To) for Captains of Industry, an indie label. We split up on the day of release. This is an archive of non-Independiente music. ... more
